Reading feature lists is the worst way to choose a tool, because every list is long. What actually decides it is smaller: what your bill grows with, whether anyone takes a cut of your sales, and what the thing does in your followers’ language. This post covers all three, with numbers, and then a full feature matrix.
How to read it. Every price below was read off that company’s own pricing page in September 2026 — they change, so check on the day you decide. In the matrix, a tick means that company’s own page claims it. Where their page did not mention something it says "not stated", not a cross: not being on a pricing page is not the same as not existing.
1. There are four ways to charge you, not one
Per active contact — ManyChat. You pay for every person who talked to your automation that month. Their page: Free covers 25 contacts and 4 automations; Essential $17 for 250; Pro $39 for 2,500; Business $99 for 7,500; Advanced $199 for 25,000. Past the limit, per-contact overage applies, up to $0.10 on Essential.
Per message on top of a subscription — Wati, AiSensy. AiSensy has a real free-forever plan at ₹0 (no broadcasting on it) and Basic at ₹1,500 a month, plus a charge per template message. Wati’s Pro is ₹5,799 a month billed quarterly with 5 users, ₹1,299 a month per extra user, and per-message billing on their rate card. Both are WhatsApp-first, which is a different job from Instagram — they are here because people compare them anyway.
Per sale — Creator Lane. The subscription is genuinely cheap: free forever for 2 automations, or Pro at ₹1,500 a year. The catch is on their own pricing page: 10% of every sale on the free plan, 5% on Pro. Cheap software, a slice of your revenue.
Flat — SuperProfile, Chatfuel, ViralDM. SuperProfile: free forever, or Creator at $29 a month ($4.99 for the first month at the time of writing), and their page states 0% commission. Chatfuel: Business listed at $69 a month, with an offer running to 30 September at $18 a month billed yearly, and Agency S at $90 a month billed yearly. ViralDM: ₹0, ₹499, ₹1,499, ₹4,999, ₹12,999, and nothing taken from your sales because UPI money goes straight to your own account.
2. What that costs on a real month
Say you sell ₹1,00,000 in a month through your DMs, to about 2,500 people who messaged you. Here is what the tool itself costs you — subscription plus any cut of the sale.
Creator Lane: 10% and 5% of ₹1,00,000, plus ₹125 a month for the annual Pro plan. ManyChat Pro $39 and SuperProfile Creator $29 converted at roughly ₹88 to the dollar. Two honest caveats: Creator Lane’s fee applies to sales through their store, so it is ₹0 if you sell elsewhere; and every figure here is the tool’s cost, not your payment-gateway cost.
3. What happens as the audience grows
Per-contact billing is the one that surprises people, because the bill rises exactly when things start working.
USD converted at roughly ₹88 to the dollar, for comparison only. At 250 contacts the two are close. The gap opens at exactly the point where things are going well for you.
4. What your followers actually type
Tools built abroad are built for English. You can write a Hindi template anywhere; what almost nothing does is work out which language the follower wrote in and answer in that one. ViralDM covers Hindi, Hinglish, English, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi and Kannada. Hinglish does the most work, because it is what people genuinely type.
The same automation answers "what is the price?" in English and "விலை என்ன?" in Tamil. Nothing is configured per language — the reply follows the question.

Where the others are genuinely better
A comparison that only flatters us is one nobody believes, so — and some of these are not close:
- SuperProfile’s free plan is more generous than ours on automations. Their page offers unlimited auto-DMs on reels and posts at ₹0; our free plan gives one automation. If all you need is auto-DM and a storefront, start there and come back when you need the rest.
- SuperProfile does courses, events and communities. We do not, and are not planning to. If selling a course is the business, that is the better home for it.
- Creator Lane at ₹1,500 a year is the cheapest subscription here by a distance. If your sales happen off-platform — so their per-sale fee never bites — that is very hard to argue with.
- ManyChat’s flow builder is deeper than ours. Many conditions and branches is what it is built for.
- Multi-channel. Instagram plus Messenger, TikTok, SMS and email in one place is worth real money if you actually run all of them.
- WhatsApp at scale. If WhatsApp broadcasting is the main channel, Wati and AiSensy are built for that job and we are not.

- Selling a course or community — SuperProfile.
- Cheapest subscription, sales happen elsewhere — Creator Lane.
