How the two fit together

ViralDM's app plans (Starter, Growth, Agency, Agency Pro) are for running your own Instagram automations in the dashboard. API plans are for building on the API. Here is where they meet.

Access comes from the plan

MCP — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini — works on every app plan: read-only on Free, read and write from Starter. Calling the API directly with a key works on Growth, Agency and Agency Pro, during the free first month, and on any API plan; on Free and Starter a direct call answers 403.

Volume comes with it

An app plan with API access includes the allowance of one of the API plans, with read and write access. An API plan sets its own. The table shows which.

One subscription per account

An account holds one subscription at a time, so choosing an API plan replaces the app plan on that account. Its dashboard features then follow the Free app plan, for example one automation.

Who can write. Every paid API plan, and every app plan with API access, can create and change things, with a key that has write permission. Only Free Dev is a read-only sandbox: its writes return 403 with Free tier is sandbox-only.

The free first month is the easy way to try the API: sign up, create a key in Dashboard → API keys, and call GET /me. Compare app plans on the homepage pricing.

Metering

What counts as a call

One call is one HTTP request to https://viraldm.app/api/v1. Calls are counted per account, not per key.

Counted

Every request that gets past the key check and your plan's limits, whatever its result. A 400 counts.
Calls made by AI assistants over MCP. Each tool call counts the API requests it makes, usually one.
With a personal API key in an MCP client, the MCP server also checks the key with one GET /me per MCP request.

Not counted

Requests refused before metering: a missing or bad key (401), no API access (403), a limit (429) or a Free Dev write.
Your own use of the ViralDM dashboard and the ViralDM mobile app.
Webhook deliveries from ViralDM to your endpoint.

When the month's calls run out. Further calls return 429 with Monthly API quota exceeded until the next calendar month or until you move to a bigger plan. Nothing is billed automatically past the quota. The plan settings list ₹0.05 per extra call, but that overage is not charged today.

Phone your leads from code

One POST /api/v1/calls with a number and a purpose. An Indian number rings, the AI talks in the lead's language, and you get the transcript, summary and outcome back. Prepaid credits, one price per answered call.

An answered call up to 3 minutes, plus one credit per started minute after that. Unanswered calls are free.

Calls go out between 09:00 and 21:00 IST, and once per number per 24 hours.

Which plan do I need to use the API?

Access comes with the Growth (₹1,499), Agency (₹4,999) and Agency Pro (₹12,999) app plans, with the free first month, and with any API plan. Starter and Free do not include it.

An app plan with access includes an API allowance that can read and write, shown in the table above. An API plan sets its own. Only Free Dev is read-only.

Is Free Dev free forever?

Free Dev costs nothing, but it is a read-only sandbox tier, not a way in: the API itself needs one of the plans above. The free way to try the API is the free first month. When it ends and an account moves to the Free app plan, its API access closes.

What happens if I use up my monthly calls?

Calls return 429 until the next calendar month, or until you move to a bigger plan. You are not charged for overage.

Do MCP calls count?

Yes. AI assistants connected over MCP use the same API, so their calls count towards the same monthly quota as your own code.

Can I pay yearly?

Yes. Yearly billing is one payment for 12 months at the price of 10: two months free. Choose it in Dashboard → Billing.

How do I pay?

Through Razorpay in Dashboard → Billing: UPI, cards, net banking and wallets.

I need more than API Agency. What then?

If you need more than 500,000 calls a month, or have compliance requirements, write to [email protected] for a custom plan.

Where do I get my API key?

Dashboard → API keys → Generate new key. The key is shown once, so save it then. Give it write permission if you will create things.
