Most Instagram automation tools do one thing well: answer a comment with a DM. That is where they stop. In September 2026 we shipped four features that make the DM itself do the growing — and, as far as we know from reviewing the category, you will not find them in any other DM tool. This post explains each one in plain language and shows how to switch it on. Everything below is live today on every ViralDM plan.
1. Friend Loops — your followers bring their friends
Referral programs work everywhere except Instagram, because there was never a place to put one. Friend Loops puts it inside the DM.
- A follower DMs your keyword (say FRIEND) and gets a personal invite code such as
FRIE-7K3A, plus a ready-to-forward line: "Follow @you and DM this code — you get a gift too." - Their friend DMs the code. If they are not following you yet, the bot asks them to follow first and try again. When they do, the friend gets their reward instantly.
- The referrer gets progress DMs ("2/3 friends joined") and, at your threshold, the reward — a message, a link, or a coupon code. Once per person.
Why it grows followers, not just leads: the follow check happens before a code counts. Every reward you hand out is at least one new follower who has already opened a DM thread with you.
Setup (2 minutes): Pro Suite → Friend Loops → New loop → keyword, friends needed, both rewards → Save. Add {{refer:FRIEND}} to the end of any automation reply to hand out codes automatically. The page shows codes issued, friends joined, rewards given and your top referrers.
2. Creator Circle — creators in your niche send you their followers
Shout-out swaps have always been manual: find a creator, negotiate, post, hope they post back. The Creator Circle does the whole exchange automatically, inside the freebie DMs both of you already send.
- You join with your niche, the languages your audience reads, your freebie keyword and one line about the freebie.
- The last card of your freebie replies becomes a partner shout-out: "You'll also like @partner — DM them GIFT for their free preset pack." Their replies carry your card the same way.
- Partners are matched by niche, a shared language and size (within 4× of your followers). A reciprocity ledger tracks who showed whom; the partner you owe the most is shown next, so nobody gives more than they get.
Built-in rules keep it clean: one card per follower per week, never on comment replies, never the same partner twice to the same person, and you can leave with one click. Your invite link is your affiliate link, so bringing creators into the Circle also earns you a share of their plan.
3. "Ye wala?" Visual Search — a photo becomes a sale
If you sell on Instagram you know this message: a screenshot of your story and the words "ye wala kitne ka?". Until now a human had to answer it.
- A follower sends a photo or screenshot of something you sell — from your story, a reel, a friend's phone.
- ViralDM looks at it next to your product photos and replies with the exact product card, price and Buy button. With UPI Verify on, the pay link rides along.
- If it is not sure, it asks "which one?" with up to three cards. If it is very unsure, it stays silent — a wrong product card in a DM costs trust, no reply costs nothing.
Setup: add products with clear cover photos and publish them. The feature is on by default; the Products page has a "Try it" box so you can paste any photo URL and see what the bot would answer. It also lists the things people asked for that you do not sell yet.
4. Get paid in DMs — a screenshot becomes a verified UPI payment
Payment gateways take a cut and add a form. Most Indian creators just say "pay to this UPI and send the screenshot". We made that flow automatic and safe.
- Write
{{upi:499:Course fee}}in any reply (or tick "Take a UPI payment in this reply" in the automation builder). The follower gets a QR + Pay ₹499 card for your own UPI id. - They pay in any UPI app and send the screenshot back in the same DM.
- The AI reads the receipt — amount, receiver name, UTR — and if everything matches, your link or message is delivered automatically. Anything unclear is held for one-tap review; approving it delivers.
Money lands in your bank, not ours. No gateway fees, no checkout page, nothing for the follower to type.
