If you sell on Instagram, this DM arrives every day: a screenshot, and under it "how much is this one?" No name, no code, just a picture. And while you hunt through your own gallery to answer, the buyer is already watching somebody else's story.
How it works
You add your items under Products, each with one clean cover photo. That is the whole setup. When somebody sends a photo in the DM, it is matched against your product photos and the matching card goes back — name, price and a Buy button. If UPI verification is on, the same reply carries a pay link.
The part that matters most: when it is not sure
There are two cases where it deliberately stops:
- Slightly unsure — it does not send one card. It asks "which of these?" with up to three options.
- Very unsure — it sends nothing and leaves the conversation to you.
The reason is simple: sending the wrong card costs more than sending nothing. Quote one wrong price and the buyer stops believing the next one.
Good photos make good answers
- One product, one clean cover photo. No collages.
- Keep the background plain, so the colour and the print are what stand out.
- Two colours of the same item are two products, not one.
- Remove sold-out stock. The worst possible reply is a card for something you cannot ship.
A hidden benefit
The things people ask for that you do not stock are listed on the Products page too. That list is your next purchase order — built from real demand rather than from a guess.
How to test it
In the "Try it" box on the Products page, paste the URL of one of your own product photos and watch what comes back. Two or three photos are enough to tell you whether your images are clean enough.
Next: take the payment over UPI in the same DM, so the road from a photo to money finishes inside one chat.
