This Cookie Policy explains how ViralDM uses cookies and similar technologies.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit websites. They help websites remember you, your preferences, and how you use the site.
2. Cookies We Use
| Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Login session (vdm.sid), security, CSRF protection | 7 days, renewed while you use the site; ends at logout |
| Preferences | Theme (dark/light), language | 1 year |
| Functional | Remember automation settings, dashboard state | 30 days |
| Consent | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected advertising cookies (vdm_tc) | 180 days |
| Advertising (only after Accept) | Meta Pixel (_fbp, _fbc) — measures ViralDM's own ads; public site and sign-up pages only | 90 days |
| Referral | Credits the affiliate whose link you arrived from (vdm_ref, only set when you open a referral link) | 90 days |
Advertising cookies (Meta Pixel). The only third-party advertising cookies are Meta's (_fbp, _fbc), and only on ViralDM's public website and sign-up pages — never inside the dashboard — and only after you press Accept on our cookie banner. They let us measure which of our Instagram/Facebook ads bring sign-ups. Press Reject, or browse with Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control on, and the pixel never loads. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie choices link at the bottom of the page; withdrawing deletes those cookies. Your choice itself is kept in vdm_tc (cookie and localStorage, 180 days). If you arrive from one of our ads, Meta's ad-click id (fbclid) is held only in your server-side session, so the sign-up that follows can be credited to that ad — no cookie is written for it before you accept. On sign-up and payment our server also tells Meta about the event (Conversions API) with your email and account id hashed — see the Privacy Policy, section 3. We run no other third-party analytics.
3. Third-Party Cookies
- Razorpay: for payment processing
- Meta/Google: when you connect your accounts via OAuth
- Cloudflare: for security and bot protection
- Meta (advertising measurement):
_fbp/_fbc, only after you accept — see above
4. How to Control Cookies
You can:
- Block cookies in your browser settings (may break the site)
- Delete existing cookies from browser settings
- Use private/incognito mode (cookies deleted when closing)
5. Do Not Track (DNT)
We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals: with either on, the Meta Pixel never loads, no banner asks, and no advertising event is sent from your browser.
6. Local Storage
We also use browser localStorage for:
- Theme preference (dark/light)
- Dashboard filter preferences
- Tutorial dismissal state
7. Updates
We may update this policy. Changes are effective when posted.
